Nick Burbidge

Age: 45

With over 35 years of experience in playing and coaching baseball and softball, I’ve dedicated my life to these sports. I’ve coached competitive travel teams in both baseball and softball and have spent the past four years coaching high school baseball at Copper Hills High School.

As a catcher by trade, I’ve also gained valuable experience pitching and playing in the infield and outfield. Currently, I play on both an 18+ baseball team and a 35+ baseball team, traveling several times a year to compete in out-of-state tournaments.

Baseball and softball are more than just sports to me—they’re a lifelong adventure. I truly love being on the field, working with kids, and helping them improve their skills. There’s no place I’d rather be than on a baseball diamond, sharing my passion for the game.

Gage Olsen

Hi, my name is Gage Olsen. I’m 19 years old and graduated in 2023 from Copper Hills High School. In the fall of 2022, I committed to pitch at Salt Lake Community College, where I continue to play today. I’m fortunate to work daily with incredible coaches, including the SLCC staff and my strength coach, J.C. Bird (@UnbridledStrength), constantly absorbing high-level knowledge. While I’ve done extensive research on pitching mechanics, I dedicate most of my time to strengthening my body and improving performance while staying healthy.

In my opinion, pitchers should spend as much time developing the strength and mobility needed to handle the stress of pitching as they do focusing on pitching mechanics.

During my lessons, I provide a comprehensive program that includes:

  • Warm-Up/Dynamic Stretching
  • J-Band Warm-Up
  • Weighted Ball Warm-Up
  • Throwing (tailored to the day’s focus)
  • Post-Throw J-Band
  • Recovery
  • Post-Throw Running Program

This program is designed based on methods used by college coaches, teams, and players. I’ve personally followed these practices since high school and have seen my velocity increase from 80 MPH to 93 MPH.

During each session, I’ll also provide personalized feedback and supply players with programs, lifts, mobility exercises, and drills to continue their development outside of lesson time.

Lessons are ideally for groups of 3–4 players and last approximately 1 hour. If you’re interested, feel free to text me at (385) 775-8171 for more details, including available time slots and pricing.

Brayden Olson

Hi, I’m Brayden Olson. I grew up in West Jordan, Utah, and have been playing baseball my entire life. Currently, I’m a sophomore pitcher at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), training under the guidance of J.C. Bird (@UnbridledStrength).

Through my work with The Swing Station, I focus on developing proper pitching mechanics, effective warm-up and cool-down routines, and strength-based recovery. I use data-driven methods to track pitch effectiveness, such as batting average against specific locations and ground-ball rates, to help athletes improve their performance.

Each session is designed to help players grow and includes:

  • A measurable goal for improvement
  • Simple mental cues for focus and consistency
  • Breathwork to build composure under pressure
  • A performance log for direct feedback

We’ll tailor drills to fit each athlete’s mechanics, incorporating mobility work to improve stability, expand range of motion, and prevent injuries. My training also includes lower-body development, core strength, explosive medicine-ball exercises, and more.My focus is on building steady, high-level athletes who stay healthy, improve consistency, and compete with confidence.

Lessons are preferably in groups of 3–4 players and last roughly 1 hour. If you’re interested, feel free to text or call me at 801-870-9331 for more details about availability and pricing.
